Stitching 2 Blackbird Pincusion using Valdani Threads and Blackbird at Houston Quilt Market 2010

I was fortunate to see Barbara and Alma this year again in the Houston Quilt Market in October 2010. They had a very nice booth and lots of visitors. We chat for a while and they are so nice, personable and friendly.

I stitched 2 of the Blackbird Pincushion designs using Valdani threads, they turned out so pretty. I took a little more time to do the finishing. I used Wichelt Lambswool fabric. The Wichelt fabric is a little bit "stiff" and they are great for stitching small because it makes the finishing easier to take shapes.

For the Blackbird Blue Bird design, I used Valdani P8, P2, H212 and O562.

For the Blackbird Winter Garden Pincushion, I used Valdani O503, O575, O526, M90, and O78. I added the beads.I modified the chart a little and put the inital "A" in the middle.

I carry Valdani threads both 3 ball version and 6 strand floss.They are color fast and the prices are great.

Fall Stitching with Threadworx, DMC and Valdani Threads

A chessie and Me freebie, using Valdani Threads M7 Fall Leaves and 0510 Terracotta Twisted. Valdani Threads are color fast overdyed cotton and they are very pretty. A perfect way to display the pinkeep is the "mini wood easel" and I carry that on my web site as well.

French Freebie Biscornu with Various Overdyed Floss/Silk

Finally, I have something to post. I have picked 4 French freebies from various sites. They are perfect designs for Biscornu. I carry all these threads except the Carson Wild flowers, but I will be adding some Carson threads soon.

Stitched with Dinky Dyes Silk, Ruby (the silk is very smooth and I am very impressed with the quality):

Stitched with Crescent Colours Cotton Crab Cake and ThreadworX 10761 Butterscott and Cherries, those 2 colors compliment each other really well, the flowers on the 4 corners are stitched with Crescent Colours and the rest with ThreadworX, the picture does not show those subtle and pretty color combination:

Stitched with Carson Wildflower African Sunset, I like using Carson Wildflower for "Blackwork" and I will be adding Carson Waterlilies and Wildflower soon on my web site:

Stitched with Valdani Overdyed Floss V3122 Victorian Mauves, I used 20 ct linen to stitch this piece since the chart itself is small. Valdani Floss is all colorfast.

I have purchased 37 new Valdani Overdyed floss. I took most of the pictures in groups. These are color fast overdyed floss made in Romania. The company is in Canada. Their main business is quilting threads but they are constantly expanding the needlework overdyed floss. You can view their web site at http://valdani.com/.

Valdani M43 Vibrant Red, the pattern is one of the Wichelt imports freebie:

P1 Old Brick, the pattern is from Goode Huswife, the yellow/brown bird is a DMC thread, the rest is stitched with Old Brick, one of the birds was stitched on Vibrant Red. I love this color.
