There will be 3 patterns in this series - the 1st one will detail the bottom of the sampler (yes, it will be worked from the bottom up!), the 2nd will detail the middle of the sampler, the 3rd will complete the piece with the top of the design. The sampler design size is 170w x 200h and stitched on 30ct Cocoa Linen by Weeks Dye Works. There are 8 skeins of Weeks Dye Works floss needed for this piece. The first release is scheduled for mid October, and the remaining patterns will be in November & December.

This booklet has a lot of pictures from Spencer Museum of Art. The booklet has 104 pages, full color, soft cover and it weights close to 1lb. 9 Cross stitch projects. There are 24 antique samplers pictured with a bit of history. 50% of the royalties will go to the museum. Here are the pictures of the stitching projects in the booklet. Right now it is on sale on my web site for $24.95 (Regular price is $27). There are also thread packs available to purchase. The thread pack only includes one of each color of the threads, it may not have enough threads to finish ALL the projects inside this booklet.

I just love this I Top tool, it has many features: you can make covered buttons, snaps, magnets, brads and much more. It is very easy to use, you can make those buttons in second in 2 steps and it comes with a DVD. You can center your fabric very easy and your covered buttons turn out exactly where you want them to be.

I am having issue with the Blog format on Internet explorer browser. The blog is fine using Firefox but not IE, I don't know how to fix the problem at this time. The right hand side sidebar does not appear on the side on the IE, it all shifted to the bottom of the screen. Firefox browser, the blog looks perfect.

4 new mini 2 1/2" 2 tones scissors, purple/gold cat scissors and black art deco scissors just arrived yesterday. The new scissors are all under $10. The mini scissors are only $6.45. I have made a new beaded scissors fob. I called it "short and sweet" and they are so easy to make and it only takes less than 20 minutes, the hardest part is to decide what beads to use. A Few Stitching Finishes

I picked a few soft designs for the month of February. I love the way the Floss Ring Tag turned out. I have a hard time picking the fabric for the finishing. At the end, I think they look very impressive:

Threads used in the first design is ThreadworX 11011 Hydrangea.The Alpha "A" is Sajou alphabet freebie, and the pincushion design is from My aunt attic.

Pin and Needles pincushion is a mixture of Valdani's and DMC threads.It is a M designs but I changed
all the thread colors and modified quite a bit from the original design.

I am wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. Here are two quick christmas finishes. My son is 7 1/2 years old and he is so excited about Santa tomorrow. We went to a Christmas Festival Light show and dinner tonight. On Thursday, we made
the christmas cookies. I bought a new cookie press from Cuiseart and well, the cookies were supposed to be star shaped but they all turned out flat and round. Maybe we will try to make the cookies again next week. Have a wonderful holiday.

Christmas Biscornu with Covered Button and I Top Tool

2 Christmas Theme biscornu to share. The I Top tool is so cool and easy to use and I love those covered buttons.

- The first Biscornu is stitched with Caron Wildflowers Mocha Rose with Mill Hill beads and I modified the original chart. The chart is by Manka Mintai.

Stitching 2 Blackbird Pincusion using Valdani Threads and Blackbird at Houston Quilt Market 2010

I was fortunate to see Barbara and Alma this year again in the Houston Quilt Market in October 2010. They had a very nice booth and lots of visitors. We chat for a while and they are so nice, personable and friendly.

I stitched 2 of the Blackbird Pincushion designs using Valdani threads, they turned out so pretty. I took a little more time to do the finishing. I used Wichelt Lambswool fabric. The Wichelt fabric is a little bit "stiff" and they are great for stitching small because it makes the finishing easier to take shapes.

For the Blackbird Blue Bird design, I used Valdani P8, P2, H212 and O562.

For the Blackbird Winter Garden Pincushion, I used Valdani O503, O575, O526, M90, and O78. I added the beads.I modified the chart a little and put the inital "A" in the middle.

I carry Valdani threads both 3 ball version and 6 strand floss.They are color fast and the prices are great.

Last week was The Houston Quilt Wholesale Market. I added 2 new products to the web site. They are by Imaginisce, "I Top and "I Rock" tools. They are very unique. They can apply to any type of crafts, sewing, quilting, needleworks, scrapbooking and much more.

The I top tool (button and brad maker) is a tool to make covered buttons, brads, badges, magnet buttons, twisted buttons and more. Anita's 2 Hornbook finishes

This design is by AMAP. I stitched it with DMC 498 one over one stitch on R and R reproduction 30 ct fabric. I love stitching one over one, there are definitely more details on the finishined piece.

This design is from Perwinkle Promise Sampler Kit. Instead of finishing as a pincushion, I finished it as a hornbook.
